My name is Dan Grant and I’m currently a baseball coach…what!?!? It’s true. Now why would a baseball coach be running bootcamps and helping people change not only their health but their lives? Because before I got back to my roots I was a fitness coach and a pretty damn good one. For almost a decade I trained almost every possible type of client you can imagine…from NFL punter to a 78 year old post-double knee surgery client. From a 252 pound 12 year old to a 45 year old fitness teacher who’s been in the industry for 20 years. From marathon runners to figure competitors. From the weekend warriors to business owners of large companies.

You get the picture. I’ve trained hundreds of people and as I developed and became more well-known I started writing for some internet sites (msn.com, thesoko.com) and magazines (Inside Fitness Magazine – Canada’s #1 Health and Fitness Magazine). I’ve been featured in newspapers nationwide from the Edmonton Journal to the Montreal Sun to 24hrs Vancouver just to name a few. Hell, I’ve even been interviewed by top life coaches in the UK. I’m actually known as The Fitness Pez Dispenser all over the world…pretty hilariously awesome, right?

The one thing that has always been constant is not how people’s bodies are transformed but how their lives are. As I’ve evolved as a coach so has my outlook and so has my advice.

Health and fitness is a pretty big part of living the life of The Awesome. I mean how many studies need to happen before we actually clue in to how important exercise and proper nutrition are to the prevention of countless diseases.

So to put it simply the whole point of this mission is to live a fulfilling awesome life, period.

Some ways I personally live my awesome life is spending time with my fiance, coaching baseball, consulting with clients worldwide, reading every day, writing articles and random opinions at my blog, exercising, listening to good music (ie. James Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Aaron Lewis, and Brad Paisley to name a few) and watching the only television show I dedicate time to…The Office.

I believe reading is crucial to living an awesome life and we talk about them in my bootcamps and consultation sessions.

Here is a list of some life changers to get you started on you path to The Awesome:

An Iron Will – Orison Swett Marden (1901)
Coach Wooden – Pat Williams (2011)
Psycho-Cybernetics – Maxwell Maltz (1960)
The Seasons of Life – Jim Rohn (1981)
Live Life Aggressively – Mike Mahler (2011)
The Awesome Life – Dan Grant (coming soon) – yep…I am totally promoting my new book coming in 2012.
